HLC, NO BLOOD AND THE TORT OF MISREPRESENTATION
by belbab inin the recent thread regarding the watchtower letters to all congregations regarding hlc and blood transfusions i quoted the following quote and added the comment following.
first, in the opening letter (jan 3, 1995) addressed to the congregation, it states: our computerized listing of cooperative doctors shows more than 19,000 in the united states.
the worldwide listing from all the branches reports more than 50,000 doctors working with us.

Red Cross JW comment
by startingover inthe following statement was on the tort of misrepresentation essay with the credit being given to ajwrb.
vast quantities of blood must be donated by non jehovah's witnesses to provide all of the blood fractions and medicines used by jehovah's witnesses and their children.
please help replenish the supply - give blood.. i was lead to believe that this was a red cross campaign slogan, but i clicked on the red cross link in ajwrb and i could not find this statement made on their site.

I am unclear on the page number references, as I only have an abstract of the Journal Of Church And State, page numbers 783 through 822. What page from my abstract might correspond to the page you mention? I do remember reading something of that nature, but would not like to re-read this entire essay to find your reference. Thanks!

Oprah Winfrey
by Madame Quixote indoes anyone have any contact with oprah winfrey?
i think she could do a great show on the misrepresentation of medical and secular facts issue.
let's just visualize this show: hlc members, elders, litigants (who won against the wtbs), the author of the essay, kerry louderback-wood, the baylor u. ethics professors, the woo-hooing audience, etc.?

The BIG NEWS is getting around
by Jez inmy friend gave an article out her local little newspaper entitled in huge print, "blood ban of jehovah's witnesses is more complex than many realize.
" by richard n. ostling .
i am not sure if the exact same article is the one for release that has already been posted here, but it starts out, .

I think I came across an article on the net yesterday . . . posted in the Chicago Tribune. It (the misrepresentation issue) is getting some well-deserved attention.
Hopefully, someone will be able to take it (WBTS) to court with much success.
Even if they don't, at least the press coverage is putting some serious egg on the WTBS' faces. -

I don't see how it would be unfair to leave this information available to everyone who wants to see it, whenever they're ready for it.

Congratulations and best wishes for your future endeavours! I hope you can make some money on your next one! Oh those mirror sites make me so happy!
I must reiterate what someone else said because it's so funny and so true:
"I wonder if they even realize yet how shutting you down has been the Internet equivalent to having the gun go off in their pants while they were trying to draw?"
I wish I knew how to create mirror site.
P.S. Auld Soul, speaking of scat, the further you get away, the less you smell it. I was going to say, the further you get, the less it stinks, but, you know . . . it stinks whether you're in it, on it, above it, or cleaning it up. Heh! Nice play on werds, btw. I remember learning about "eschatology" in a Religion class my freshman year; then it was on to scat in some science class; hmmm, seems like it should have been the reverse, though. -

Here is the info I gathered on the site copyright and who created it (at bottom of page announcing suit):

Sorry, Rebel 8 - the name just happens to be like yours. BTW, I really love your site and hope to link to it soon. Hope that is okay?
Is anyone familiar with Rado Vleugel? I came across it several times in the past few days as I surfed JW sites.
Hello Rado Vleugel, where are you? Thanks.
P.S. I simply googled up the info by typing in "class action lawsuits against Jehovah's Witnesses." Here is the http addy - ( I guess that's what it's called) - to the google page where I found the info:
http://www.google.com/search?q=class+action+lawsuits+against+Jehovah%27s+Witnesses&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official -

Actually, there is a link in teeeny, tiny script (almost illegible) for watchtower-victims.org, a website supposedly set up for victims of sexual abuse and for victims of JW blood policies, but I am very suspicious of it because of the way the page is set up. Does anyone else know anything about this?

LOOK WHAT I JUST FOUND (yes, I know I'm yelling and screaming at the top of the lungs in my mind):
EDIT:
I just tried to look at some of the info on the page I bookmarked at what looks like the jwinfo service, but I think I've been the victim of a hoax. Has anyone else been seeing this?
